Fibreglass also called glasswool insulation is the most common insulation used to insulate roofs worldwide. Fibreglass Insulation is:
● Relatively inexpensive to buy and easy to install
● Has good heat and cooling properties and is
● Made from up to 70% recycled glass.
Fibreglass Insulation involves melting the raw materials, glass and sand at temperatures of around 1550ºC. The liquid glass is then spun rapidly and extruded out of small holes to form fibres. These fibres are then coated with a resin to bind them together and shaped into batts.
Fibreglass insulation is generally inexpensive insulation to buy and easiest to install - so it is no wonder it is the most common insulation used for homes and roofs.
The main environmental benefit of fibreglass insulation is that it is manufactured out of up to 70% recycled glass.
Fibreglass is one of the most resistant materials to fire - it requires extremely high temperature to burn.
Our new generation of glass woolTechnology is the result of five years of intensive research and testing. This development is part of our ongoing desire to provide customers with innovative products which also meet the growing market demand for more sustainable construction materials.

It represents the most significant step change in mineral wool insulation ever.
Thermal Insulation Glasswool made with offers superior handling... Softer feel , Odourless Easy to cut , Superior level of sustainability...
Manufactured from naturally occurring and/or recycled raw materials, and bonded using a bio-based technology free from formaldehyde, phenols, acrylics and with no artificial colours, bleach or dyes added.
Contributes to improved indoor air quality compared to conventional mineral wool Reduces impact on environment through lower embodied energy , Reduces pollutant manufacturing emissions and workplace exposures , Improving the overall sustainability of buildings in which they are incorporated ,Cost competitive with our traditional mineral wool and delivers all the benefits you are used to from our traditional mineral wool! Energy saving, for reduced energy bills and reduced CO2 emissions,High insulation efficiency for maximum thermal comfort,Non-combustibility for enhanced safety,Superb acoustic performance,Highly sustainable,High recycled and/or renewable content,Recyclable at end of life,Low embodied energy.
Key Features of Fibreglass Insulation:
• Relatively easy to install
• Both Heating and Cooling properties
• Reduces noise - Acoustic properties
• Resistant to Fire
• Resistant to Insects
• Does Not Shrink
Fiberglass insulation is made from very fine strands of glass held together in a thick, random mat. Between the fibres are many small pockets of air. Aerolite insulation is manufactured from a combination of sand and up to 80% recycled post-consumer glass that would otherwise go to landfill. On average our fiberglass contains 50% recycled glass.
